Ishwor Aryal, Kathmandu. More than 11 lakh 40 thousand tourists have visited Nepal in the year 2024. According to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) till this morning, 11 lakh 47 thousand 24 people have entered in Nepal.
According to the statistics of NTB, 3000 tourists visited Daily and the tourist arrival has increased by more than 14 percent compared to 2023. In 2019, 11 lakh 97 thousand one hundred and 91 foreign tourists came to Nepal. This is the first year that more tourists visited Nepal after the Corona epidemic. From 2020 to 2022, tourist arrivals were almost at a standstill.
According to the statistics of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for the last six months, tourism in Nepal has recovered by 96 percent after Covid-19.
Nepal Premier League (NPL), World Buddhist Conference, International ‘Balloon’ Festival, ‘Dragon Boat’ Festival, popular religious destination as well as fairs and exhibitions organized nationally and internationally have also boosted tourism arrivals.
Tourism is the largest industry in Nepal. It is largest source of foreign exchange and revenue also. Home to eight of the ten highest mountains in the world, Nepal is a popular destination for mountaineers, rock climbers and adventure seekers. The Hindu and Buddhist heritages of Nepal and the other side its cool weather are also strong attractions.
